Hi I'm Sidney

I'm a teacher. I'm an optimist. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am in the business of teaching life skills, reading, and a love of learning to five year olds. I love teaching kindergarten and I love to sing, play the piano, learn new things, make new friends, hike, explore, and find the silver lining in everything. I have amazing parents, siblings, family and friends.

Why I am a Mormon

Most people would probably put me in the category of "those kids who are just following their parents", since I've had the gospel all my life. However, I'm not in that category. I'm a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints because I personally received my witness and testimony that this is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The time came when I was 13 to ask for myself. I asked my Father in Heaven, and I did receive. I know that this is the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I know that the Book of Mormon is true and that Joseph Smith was a true prophet. I have a testimony that I have a Father in Heaven who loves me and knows me and that Jesus loved me enough to atone and die for me. For all of us. I know that President Monson is the prophet today. I have a strong testimony of this gospel because I consistently live what I have been taught and that has opened the way for the Spirit to testify of these things to me. My testimony is always growing and I know that I can always ask of my Father in Heaven. Every day I see evidence of this gospel's truthfulness and of Heavenly Father's love for each of us. In the Earth, in my church meetings, in watching the little acts of service that people do. I am blessed everyday because of my testimony and my decision the follow Him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by Visiting Teaching sisters in my ward. I help to organize activities for my Family Home Evening group. I do my best to try and be an example to other's around me by living the standards of the church and sharing my testimony with others. I try to do serve others the best I can, and I've found that even the simplest acts of service, such as giving a heartfelt smile to someone passing by, or saying hello to someone who looks sad or down, or even giving words of encouragement or a compliment to a neighbor or friend. I've discovered that large acts of service are good, but sometimes the little ones, are the most sought after by others. I love to feel Heavenly Father's love when I help one of his children. That is how I live my faith.
