Hi I'm Hil.

I'm A Singer/Songwriter And Flyfisher. I Believe In Miracles, I Love Jesus, My Family, and Genealogy. I'm A Mormon.

About Me

The Lord is my best friend. My Family is my life... I am a mother and nurturer of a family of 6. I love reading Church Doctrine books. (I Really Do) My favorites always seem to be by Joseph Fielding Smith, James E. Talmage, or Joseph Brigham Keeler. I love collecting old books. Writing and recording music is a passion of mine. If I could ever get over stage-fright, I may be able to do more with the talent that God has given me. My brother and I were paid to write/record a jingle for a local business, so I guess you could say I am an accomplished artist... Ha Ha!!! I am obsessed with Geneology and hope to one day connect with my Irish Roots. I believe, when we learn about our Family Histories, a void can be filled that many don't even recognize exists. I don't think the feeling can be described with words... you would just have to get started to find out!!! I have a passion for fly-fishing...and also enjoy tying flies. (favorites being salmon and steelhead flies) I love to cook. I worked for years at the local news station. My duties were Master Control, Prompter, Audio and CG's. I love my family. My father died when I was 9.(Oldest child 13yrs.-youngest 4 mo.) He died of Bone and Liver Cancer. This has caused a unity and a bond in our family that no one could break. We have a night devoted to spending time with family every monday night. Daily scripture study and prayer are important to me. Oh... and I love candy!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints...and I have a firm, unshakable testimony of the truthfullness of the Gospel. I guess what sets me apart would be that I wasn't always active in this church. Attending other Christian churches, I've met people from all walks of life and heard other's testimonies of Our Savior and made friends that I wouldn't have otherwise had. For this, I am eternally grateful. I know the Lord was with me every step of the way. I acknowledge His Hand in my life and I have a testimony of the Atonement. It has been a long road, but the Savior has guided me, carried me, and at times, waited patiently for me to simply turn around. Jesus is my sweet brother and always helps me remember my direction and stay my course. Through all of life's ups and downs, He has remained true and my perfect example. WITH HIM, I AM SPECIAL. Without His Grace, I wouldn't be able to come back into my Heavenly Father's Presence. I can think of no greater blessing. If I narrowed it down to "WHY I AM A MORMON"-it would be that I took the time to pray, fast, and ask Heavenly Father if the Church is true. And, I can honestly say, with confidence, that I have received a special witness, that has been tailored to me. Isn't it funny how life turns out? I am where I am supposed to be. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints because I believe in it with all of my heart...and it makes me happy!

How I live my faith

As of right now, due to the size of our Ward (church), we have the opportunity to serve in many different areas at the same time. RIght now I am blessed to be the sunday-school teacher for the 8-11yr. old girls. Last year, we studied the New Testament, this year, the Book of Mormon. These girls are smart, productive, and beautiful daughters of God. Being directly involved with these girls is such a blessing for me. The more I get to know them individually, the more I love them. Each one has taught me so much and has helped my testimony of the Savior grow even more. I was also recently given the chance to serve as a Ward Family History Consultant- which is a dream come true for me! I have the blessing of being able to help others with different aspects of their Family History! Which I have already done with some friends and family. But, now I can help so many others develop that drive for it! I have women that I try to see on a regular monthly basis as a Visiting Teacher. A spiritual message is brought and any needs of the family are discussed and taken care of. I know that when I do this, I find opportunities to serve them and help them to stay strong. In turn, this strengthens my love for them and renews my sense of belonging...There are women that come and visit me too. No one should be left out of this. It brings unity to our neighborhood! We are the hands and feet of the Lord... There will always be opportunity to exercise this! Isn't God Great?
