Hi I'm Emanuel

I grew up in Dominican Republic. I'm a husband. I'm an accounts department employee. I'm studing graphic design and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Many of the people who know me say that I'm confused with my nationality, because I was born in Peru but I raised in Dominican Republic since I was 5 years old; which I identify myself more Dominicano and the reason is because I really love to dance merengue, bachata, salsa and perico ripiao. Hobbies that I really enjoy are playing soccer, baseball and basketball. I love drawing, and also do mountain biking. In 2005, I had the blessing to served as a full-time missionary in San Fernando, California, United States preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ inviting people to come unto him. After those two wonderfull years, I married a beutifull returned sister missionary who is originally from Mexico City and whom I have been married for life and eternity for almost three years. I have an adoptive son named Mikey (a miniature dachshund male dog). I'm currently working for a furniture store in the accounts department and now I will start attending to college to have an associate degree in Graphic Design.

Why I am a Mormon

Six months after my family and I flew to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, my family met the missionaries one Sunday in the afternoon. I still remember that day because it was a special moment. My parents took my little brother and I for a walk to eat some ice cream. When we were about to cross the street, we saw eight missionaries riding their bikes and the last missionary turned back when he saw us. Since that moment, I have been receiving many blessing from our Heavenly Father; even dough I have been through many difficult times in my life, I never feel alone because I know for a fact that God is with me in all times. I would like to share my testimony that I know that God has a plan for all mankind, and that is to return to live with Him again and thanks to our Savior Jesus Christ we can have the chance to receive forgivness of our sins; and that we had received the fullness of his gospel through the prophet Joseph Smith. I have received these testimony of this gospel asking sincerely to God, believing that I would received an answer to my prayer, and I did. And I know the feeling I had inside my heart in that moment, no one and nothing will not take it away from me, because I know that the Holly Ghost has testified these trues to my soul.

How I live my faith

Since I became a member, I haven't stop attending to church and in my early youth I have been serving the church in many callings such as teaching, missionary work before and after my missionary calling, serving as church membership clerk and also working with the youth. Today, I'm serving as local missionary with my wife helping the new converts to learn more the gospel. Also I have assigned family members to visit them once a month as home teachers to follow up their spiritual needs. My wife also serves as music director every Sunday during church meetings. As a family we have our own activities such as reading the scriptures every day, home evenings every Sunday night and also we have our time to go to the park to jogging together. Even dough it might sound like a perfect family, we aren't but we try every day to live according to God's commandments. Sometimes it's hard to maintain our standards in a world that is full of challenges, but we make our best effort every day to live like the light of the world so others might see through our acts the love of Christ.
