Hi I'm Darbie

I am a student, a runner, a singer, and I am a Mormon

About Me

I am a student in high school. I participate in Cross Country and Track because I love running. I also sing in the school choir. I am in a more advanced choir and receive many solos. I do plays at my school. I have gotten three lead parts and one minor part. I am also my my school's student senate leadership program where we help our community and school with events and fundraisers. I like hanging out with my friends and family. My family and I go skiing a lot in the winter. I love the snow; but, I also love the beach.

Why I am a Mormon

I am LDS because my parents raised me in the church. It is my choice of course to be a member and get baptized, but I got a lot of help from my parents. Throughout my childhood, I have faced much ridicule for my standards in the church. Seeing as I was different, I wanted to know exactly why my parents and others believed in the church. I began to pray every night. As I got older, I began to have more spiritual experiences and I just knew that the church was true. When I tell this to some people, they don't understand how my testimony just comes. I tell them that if you search, ponder, and pray to know that the church is true, then you will know. It's a feeling we can't describe, but its the most joyful, warm and comforting feeling I've ever had in my life. Testimonies don't come easy though, it takes a lot of looking and praying and allowing the spirit to touch your heart. I continue too stay with the church because I see the difference that it makes in my life and I do not want to change that. When I look at girls at school, its all drama and looks and every other worldly thing that you can imagine. I am not the most popular person in the world and if I didn't have the gospel, I wouldn't feel as good about myself as I do. Its a hard thing to describe, this church. The one thing that makes it different from other churches s that its feeling and a personal revelation to you. Its not the preacher that just tells you, you know for yourself. I love the gospel and everything that it does in my life. I know I would be some where different if I wasn't a member of the church and I say these things in the name of thy son Jesus Christ, amen.

How I live my faith

I have had much experience as a president and counselor in my young woman's group. I do not have a calling at the moment but I have been planning some activities.
