Hi I'm Jake

I'm currently serving as a missionary for the Church in the Australia Perth Mission. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the second eldest of 6 children, my mother is an active member in the church and my father is not a member. I was born in NSW, Australia and lived in NZ before I left to serve my mission. I'm currently serving a 24 month mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Perth, Australia. It involves sharing the restored Gospel to everyone and anyone who is willing to listen. I love what I do every day, seeing the joy that people receive as their relationship grows with their Hevenly Father and also Jesus Christ. There is nowhere else I would rather be and nothing else I would rather be doing than serving the Lord, full time, for two years.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I was born into the church, my mother was less-active in my younger years but I remember going to church every now and then. As I got older I was made to go every week, like I'm sure alot of people are. As I got to my teen years I wasn't made to go, so I didn't. As I got older and started really thinking about where my life was going I made the decision to go back to Church, to find out for myself if what I had been taught in my childhood was true, if I really did have a Father in Heaven that loved me. As I made the effort, to read the scriptures, to pray, to ask, I found out for myself that I was a member of the one and only true church on the Earth today. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God, I know Jospeh Smith was a Prophet, that he was called of god. It took me 18 years to know of these things for myself but I am so grateful I made the effort to find out. What I love about this Gospel is that anyone can find out for themself, you don't have to rely on what someone else tells you. All we are required to do is to pray to our Father in Heaven, in the name of His Son, Jesus Christ, and we can know for ourselves.

How I live my faith

As a missionary I live my faith every day. I study the Gospel every morning for two hours, then I head out with my companion and we visit people, find people, teach people. We are involved with the local ward, we help out organising activities when we can and help the families in the ward, anyway we can. We offer service to anyone and everyone. I try my best to be an example to those around me. To show people the happiness I've received through Christ's church.
