Hi I'm Matlin Nielsen

I am a college student. I am a soon to be teacher. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the third child in my family of four kids. I am currently going to school in Idaho. I will be graduating soon with a degree in Elementary Education with an Emphasis in Science. I love being around kids and helping them learn. I also love hanging out with friends, working out, and helping others out with whatever they are in need of. Being in Idaho is a fun and exciting because I am close to family, friends, and the mountains.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been Mormon all my life, and I love the direction it has given me in my life. I have heard and read the conference talks and they always help me stay on the right path to lead me back to our Father in Heaven. The scriptures have also helped me to stay on the right path to our Father in Heaven. Scriptures in my eyes is a book that can guide you in your troubled times in your life. Whenever I am in need of encouragement I always read my scriptures or any other Mormon book. I know that if you endure to the end you will be with Father in Heaven and Jesus Christ again. I know if we go to the temple as much we can, we will truly be blessed with many blessings. I love knowing that there is always someone thinking of me and comforting me because Jesus Christ will never leave you comfortless. All you have to do is pray and believe that he will come and he will come unto you. I am so thankful for the power of prayer and what it can do to people. I know that Joseph Smith went and prayed to know what church was the right church. I know that Joseph Smith translated the scriptures so everyone can read them. And I know that Jesus Christ suffered for us in the Garden of Grthsemane and upon the cross so we can live with Him again.

How I live my faith

I love being a member! From all the callings I have had since being Young Single Adult wards I loved them all. My first calling was to be a Sunday school teacher. I really enjoyed teaching because that is what I will be doing the rest of my life. Teaching my students, friends, and family is what I love to do! I have been the Family Home Evening Coordinator where I had to plan all the Monday night events. I have been the Compassionate Service Leader where is was in charge of sending love to all the girls who were going through a tough time. I am currently the Humanitarian Aid Service Coordinator for all the ladies in the ward. I look for service opportunities that we can do as sisters. All my callings have been some sort of service and I loved every single minutes of it!

What is the Atonement of Jesus Christ? Why was it necessary for Jesus Christ to sacrifice His life?

Matlin Nielsen
Jesus Christ and His Atonement are one of the greatest sacrifice ever made in history. Heavenly Father gave His son so we could return back to Him and His son Jesus Christ. Christ suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane and later upon the cross. We can only return back to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ if we repent and be forgiven of our wrong doings. Christ's Atonement has given us the second chance of being happy. He forgives us and forget our sins when we sincerely repent through prayer. When Christ forgives and forgets our sins we must also forgive and forget ourselves so our guilt will go away! Show more Show less
