Hi I'm Allison

I love working with kids, I know ASL, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I attended to college and studied Deaf studies. I planned on becoming and interpreter, but now having worked in a school environment, I want to become a teacher. I work as a teacher's assistant at an elementary school and am saving money to go back to school . I love working with kids and helping them to learn new things. I love to read, watch TV shows, and movies. I have a quote from a book, TV show, or movie for just about any situation. I also like to write, cook, and play tennis. I sing in a church choir, and I enjoy hanging out with friends.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church. I have gone to church almost every Sunday of my life. I learned to pray and read my scriptures as a child. I was always told that God was my Father and that he loved me. When I was in high school, My father died suddenly and unexpectedly. My Grandfather died a few months later the same year. It was a hard time. I remember wondering how anything would ever be the same again. He died in the middle of the night. After they told me the news, I went to my bedroom to go to sleep. I didn't know what to do, so I prayed. I poured out my heart to my Heavenly Father. I know he heard me. I didn't know why this had to happen, and I didn't know what would happen next, but I felt and overwhelming peace and I knew that everything would be alright. I know that God heard my prayer that night. I had never really doubted that he was there before, but that night belief turned to Knowledge. God is always there for me. He is there for me when big trials like a death occur, but he is also there for me with every little thing that happens every day. I can always turn to him. God loves us all. He loves us so much that He sent His son to die for us. Jesus Christ came and suffered for me. He suffered for my sins, for my pains, for my sicknesses, for everything. He understands everything that I go through. He is always there to help me. I know that this is the true church, and it blesses my life every day.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in many ways. I go to church every Sunday and attend meetings. I work to help organize weekly activities for those I go to church with. We get together every Monday night for lessons and games and treats. I try to be a friend to those around me and to serve and help those around me. I try to be the best person I can be, and to be there for someone when they need help. I participate in service in my community at the food bank farm, at the cannery, putting together toiletry kits to send to disaster victims. I go with a group of my friends once a month to sing at a retirement community. I try to live my life so that the Love I feel from my savior can be seen, and felt by those I come in contact with.
