Hi I'm Catherine

I am an artist, a designer, a working mother of six and grandmother of eleven. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in Southern California and had the priviledge of working for Disney most of my youth. I loved to dance, sing, act and perform. But, I wanted more education to go with my experience, so I went to Brigham Young University to continue my studies and perform with their ballet company and performing groups. I met a handsome young return missionary and three months later we were married in the Los Angeles Temple. We raised six children and we both worked, while my husband finished his masters degree. Then, I went back to college and graduated suma cum laud after my youngest went into high school. I love to paint, design, decorate, do anything that is creative and also learning new things. My family loves education, being creative and spending as much time together as we can. With our family, their spouses and eleven grandchildren, we are ALWAYS having a good time.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always loved my Savior and had a testimony of the Book of Mormon. It just makes perfect sense to me. It is clear, simple and straight forward. As a young child I often felt afraid, alone and unsure but with ferverent prayer I always felt my Saviors love for me. The scriptures give me peace and understanding in a caotic world. Being the only Mormon in most of my schooling circles and show business life helped me to search continuosly at a very young age for my beliefs and to verify why I lived a Mormon lifestyle. "Because it makes me happier and closer to Christ," I would answer. I chose to read, study, ponder and pray about what my beliefs are and what I would teach my children. I chose to put the gospel to the test. I chose to follow the Lord's commandments to find out for myself if it was true. I know that my Father in Heaven would never lie to me and I can never lie to Him. I have had the blessing of having my prayers answered many times as to the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I have also had many answers to difficult questions, trials and struggles in my life that have brought me peace and comfort. I am proud to be a part of His church and know that membership brings with it responsibility. Yes, I am a mormon.

How I live my faith

I firmly believe that to live one's faith is a full time responsibility. At home, at work, at school, at church or even at the store or driving a car we are held accountable for being an example and living that which we believe in and teach. I live my faith by sharing my time, my talents, my love, my abundance, myself with those whom I come in contact with on a daily basis. Christ loved all...Christ served many. I believe that like Him, we may hate the sin but must learn to love the sinner. Even if that sinner is ourselves. Being a Mormon is not a Sunday morning meeting. Being a Mormon is a way of life that is full of sacrifices that are constant blessings in waiting.
