Hi I'm Alexis

I'm a Teacher. I'm a marathon runner. I scuba dive and swim with sharks, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am the youngest child of four as well as the only girl. Being the only girl in a family of boys was rough but it has made me a stronger person today. I love my brothers so much and they are a significant part of my life. I graduated from college in December 2010 with a degree in English Education. I teach High School English and I love every minute of it. One of my greatest passions, besides teaching, is scuba diving. I have traveled to several different places to dive and seen things beyond description. This summer I traveled to Belize and was able to swim with sharks for the first time. Swimming with those magnificent creatures was a supreme moment in my life. Other than diving I enjoy running and working out. I ran my first marathon this year which was the most challenging thing I’ve ever done.

Why I am a Mormon

I was lucky enough to be born into the church and grow up with the gospel in my home. Both my parents are converts to the church and joined in their late teens, early twenties. Even though I grew up in the church, it wasn’t until my late teens that I gained a real testimony of the truthfulness of the gospel. Being a member of the church is what makes sense in my life. It makes me strong and brings me real happiness. I could never imagine my life without the knowledge of the gospel.

How I live my faith

Every day I live the gospel to the best of my knowledge and am consciously aware of my actions. I believe that you never know who is watching you and will be affected by what you do. I try to always serve others and help people in need. I also serve within the church in various callings. A favorite calling of mine is teaching sunday school. It gives me the chance to study the scriptures more thoroughly and advance my knowledge of the gospel.
