Hi I'm Billie

I'm a grandmother of 30, a mother of 5, a sister with 6 siblings, and a wife of one man for almost fifty years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a retired registered nurse, retired licensed practical nurse, retired school teacher, retired secretary but active music teacher--now only to my grandchildren. The hobby I have been waiting all my mothering years to get back to is genealogy, and now I pretty much do it all the time. Computers are wonderful in this hobby so I've learned to use and love them! I love contacting friends and family through email, and the social networking sites. I have a lovely 40' x 40' garden and successfully use the Square Foot Gardening concept. I used to sew but would rather research genealogy now. I love to travel so take a laptop when we go--isn't technology wonderful!

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to two wonderful parents who were members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Their parents, grandparents, great-grandparents, and great-great-grandparents were also members. These early members lived during the time that Joseph Smith organized the Church. These early gr-gr-grandparents made many sacrifices in their lives to join the Church and live with the Saints. But irrespective of my background, I had to learn for myself about the Savior, Jesus Christ, and his Church, study & pray to develop my own witness that this is the Church established through the Savior's direction, and in which I believe. I have loved the journey! I love being a Mormon! It colors every aspect of my life and I am grateful for my testimony of Jesus Christ!

How I live my faith

I participate in the Church by actively serving in music callings, as a Family History Consultant (genealogy), and several days a week in the Temple. I also serve as a visiting teacher where I join another woman and we visit several other women in our Ward on a regular monthly basis. It is so good to become friends with each of them as we spend time together.
