Hi I'm Gavin

I grew up in a small town in Idaho. I'm a soccer player, a runner, and a thumb war champion. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My family consists of my parents and four boys; I have one older brother, and two younger brothers. Currently I am a college student, which means that I work hard as well as play hard. I recently received a call to serve as a Mormon missionary, which is a blessing in my life. I have lived in a small town for most of my life, so my idea of fun is generally pretty creative. I love to play sports; soccer is my passion, but I also enjoy participating in Track and Field. I enjoy singing, reading, learning, cooking (and eating), being social, and I'm always game to try something new! I also love living by the teachings of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Basically, I take pleasure in life. I feel so blessed to have been placed in the life I am in, and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon for many reasons. For one, my parents are both very strong members of the Latter-Day Saint faith. But that has little to do with why I am a member of the church. I am a member of this church simply because I love it, and I know that it is true. The principles that I have been taught throughout my life are the only causes of real, lasting joy that I have found. The knowledge that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world keeps me optimistic through the rough days. Even on the days that life is more pleasant, the same knowledge elevates my happiness because it reminds me of the greatness of God. It has truly been a blessing to me!

How I live my faith

I live my faith by being a missionary. I have been called by a prophet of God to go out and preach the gospel to the world, and I will spend the next two years of my life doing so. I am so grateful for the opportunity to do the Lord's work. Besides that, I try to serve those around me by being friendly and cheerful. I also live my faith by trying to always be firm in my beliefs and standards, and lifting others up so that they can do the same.
