Hi I'm Camilla

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a full-time mum and homemaker. I grew up in Buckinghamshire with my lovely parents and siblings. I have a BA in Classical Studies. I am married to a wonderful Mainer. I have a beautiful little girl. I am a certified TEFL teacher. I love watching films, singing, dancing, reading and playing piano (though I'm not very good at it!) and having days out at parks, museums, galleries, castles, the beach... anywhere nice :) I know that I am truly blessed, loved and watched over, and I am infinitely grateful for that.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church - my parents would take us every week and the only objection I had was having to get up early on a Sunday. As I grew older and found myself in more discussions about religion both in and out of church I knew that I really needed to know of a certainty that this was the church I should be a part of, that it was true. I had always felt it was good and right, but I wanted to know. I was 14 and one night I lay in bed thinking about it and prayed to know if it was right and true, to know for sure that God was truly there and listening to me. The feeling I got was just a wave of warmth and love and peace. I KNEW that God was listening to me, that he loved me, that he had a plan for me and that all would be well in my life and he would watch over me. I knew that the church was true. Since then I have had many ups and downs in life, as everyone does, but every experience has taught me something and strengthened my testimony (even if it took me a while to realise it!) Every blessing, every gentle nudge, every bit of comfort, every moment of inspiration is confirmation to me that God lives and loves each of us. He wants us to be happy. He wants us to have everything we need to be happy, and I know that that knowledge comes through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I am not perfect by any means, but I try daily to do what I can to live the gospel. I try to be a good and kind person. I pray each day to say thank you for the many blessings which I have and to share my feelings and ask for help for both me and those I love. I try to read my scriptures each day also. I know activities such as these help to nurture my faith and help me come closer to God by getting to know him better as well as myself. We attend church each Sunday and teach the children. It gives sweet reminders of the basic things we should all be striving to do that would make things better for everyone, such as doing unto others as you would have them do unto you. It's also good to have at least one time a week where you can just take a moment to be quiet and think upon the things which matter most. I look to see how best I can serve those around me. I say please and thank you. I smile at people :)
