Hi I'm Robby

I grew up in southern Utah and love to be in the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Right now I'm a college student. There is so much to learn and I feel like learning it all! I'm soaking it in and loving college. I'm studying outdoor recreation. I would like nothing better than to take care of the environment I grew up in. I served a full time mission in Carlsbad California. It was the best thing I could have done and the timing was right. Talking to so many people changed my perspective about life and the value of simple things. I really like living in Utah because of the outdoors. When I was a kid I was always climbing on things and I'm the same way today. When I see a mountain or a cliff the first thing I do is look for a way to get to the top. All that happens a long the way is the funnest part. Hiking with friends is one of my favorite things to do. I also enjoy running. The longer the run the better!

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in an LDS family. I always had people in my family to look up to, still do. As I was going through high school I started listening a lot more in church and to what people were saying. The best way I can put it is things just kind of became a blur and I didn't exactly know what I believed. I could say it was true but on the inside I didn't know if I believed. When I graduated I knew that my future was in my hands. There wouldn't be another year of school to keep me in line. All my choices were up to me and I was still feeling the same way about my beliefs. More then ever before I wanted to know what the gospel really meant for me. I had confidence that if God was there then he would help me find the truth. I made a goal to read the Book of Mormon everyday and have it finished in a few months. During this time I felt a sense of peace that I recognized. I had felt this when I was a child. It was like a light started burning inside of me again. I remember driving home from work excited because I was going to read the Book of Mormon. I cared more about other people and I had a desire to do GOOD. I knew God had helped me and I had found the truth.

How I live my faith

It's easy to serve when I think about all the ways that I have been served! It's incredible to see people helping each other. I try and take notice of the little ways I can help. Having a meaningful conversation with someone really goes a long way. I've always appreciated people who listen and so I try and do that back to others. Jesus Christ taught by example. I think one of the most powerful ways to teach and learn is by example. I just make sure I live what I believe. I know if I do then I will be happy. I live hoping my example can bring someone else closer to Heavenly Father.
