Hi I'm Amanda

I'm from Colorado. I'm an avid Broncos fan. I'm a college student. I'm a newlywed. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Currently, I am attending college studying Elementary Education. I want to work in an Elementary school because a. I love kids b. I love to learn c. I think that little children hold an innocence that is still untouched from worldly influences. This past summer I got married to my best friend. We are both enjoying being married and learning to work through life's challenges with one another. Speaking of challenges, I had surgery recently. This was a huge issue in my life as I hate anything medical. I know that with faith I am able to overcome all trials.

Why I am a Mormon

Though I was born into a LDS family, I've had to learn of the truthfulness of this gospel for myself. One way I've been able to gain my own testimony is through the Book of Mormon. Each time I read this book, I feel the spirit. It seems to always have application to my life whatever the situation may be. Who would have thought that a book written forever ago could have such an effect today? My testimony has not always been sufficiently strong, I've been able to regain my spirituality through consistent scripture study, listening to the Prophet, attending church, and prayer. I know those may sound like "cliche" or "easy" things but they really do make a huge difference. I am grateful for Jesus Christ who loved me so much to atone for my sins. He has changed my life and helped me to get back on the path of true discipleship. Through the gospel I am able to find true happiness and become the person that my Heavenly Father wants me to be.

How I live my faith

Being a part of the LDS church incorporates every part your life. This is not a religion where one can stand idly by, I have to live my faith each and every day. I do this primarily through example. I strive to dress modestly, refrain from inappropriate language, be positive, and serve others. I'll be the first to admit that these things are not easy, but the rewards this gospel offers far outweigh the requirements.
