Hi I'm Kirsten

I live in Southern California with my husband and 4 children. Family is everything to me. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My passions are traveling, swimming, cooking, crafting and photography. Right now I have to squeeze these activities in when I can as I also have four active young children! My husband is an engineer and we live in Southern California and love it; the weather, the people, the beach -it's heavenly here! I have lived in five different countries-France, Germany, England, Brazil and the United States. I feel blessed to have learned many different languages and cultures, to appreciate diverse places and people. It's my dream to travel the world, to see many more places I have never been to.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born to parents who are Mormon. My mother became a Mormon in Germany after hearing the gospel from missionaries. She met my father when she came to study in the United States and I am the oldest of their 5 children. We moved many times to different countries and I was baptized in Germany when I turned 8 years old. As I moved from country to country, I learned quickly that there were two main constants in my life : my family and the gospel. Moving was difficult, but as I left familiar surroundings and parted with friends and loved ones, I knew I would always have my parents and siblings with me, that I could rely on them. I know they loved me and I loved them, and that love became stronger with each move. As I moved to a new country and learned a new language or new customs, the gospel of Jesus Christ was always the same. I went to a new congregation with unfamiliar faces, but I felt the same spirit as I listened to what was being taught and knew the words were true. Again and again, the truths of the gospel have been confirmed to me in many different places through the warm and tender feeling that comes from the Spirit of the Lord. I am a Mormon today because I know that Jesus is the Christ, that He lives, that He loves me. I know that He restored His Church through the prophet Joseph Smith, and I know that this is true no matter where you live.

How I live my faith

I work with the Cub Scouts in my area. My two sons are Cub Scouts and I enjoy working with them and their friends, some of them members of our church, others members of other faiths. I like helping them learn valuable skills that prepare them for life. It is my hope that they will someday be good men who make a positive contribution to society. I believe that the family is ordained of God and I do my best to strengthen the relationships I have with my husband and children on a daily basis. We eat dinner together, read scriptures, and having family prayer every day. We hold a family night once a week and enjoy doing fun things together on the weekends. We love going on family vacations and exploring new places! We know that we can be an eternal family, even after death because we were sealed together in the temple. That knowledge brings us a lot of happiness.
