Hi I'm Ernie LaRose

I'm a Mormon. I have a small family business. I enjoy golfing, fishing, and music. Going for long rides with my wife.

About Me

I just turned sixty. Wow, I'm getting old!! Most mornings I start the day off in the gymn. Then off to work. I really don't consider it work, though. I love the people there and we have great customers. I started the business out of my home and I still find great satisfaction seeing how far we've come. My wife and I still have lots of family in Maine and Massachusetts. Going there to visit them is one of our favorite things to do. I also have a married daughter living in Michigan. They are fun to visit and we look forward to having grandchildren from them.Someday! LOL Our middle son is going to BYU. He's the brains in the family. He served a mission near Mexico and speaks Spanish very well. Our youngest son, George, lives with us and is graduating highschool in 2012. My oldest daughter is married and has three children. They live in Massachusetts and are doing very well.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up as an active member of the Catholic Church. All my family are Catholics. French ancestry way back to the 1600's. Just French and just Catholic. I reached a point in my life when I was not satisfied with the knowledge and traditions that I was recieving from church. My wife and I went to many different churches trying to find one that we felt comfortable with. There was an Episcopal Church down the street from us and we attended it for a few years. The pastor and members were very nice and we felt accepted. As time passed I just knew there was more to life than I was being taught. My search continued....One day a man gave me some info about the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Wow! I was overjoyed to find that so many of my personal beliefs were the same as this new church. Soon, my wife felt the same way and we were both baptised. That was almost 25 years ago. Since then, my wifes family has also joined. They feel the same as us! Wouldn't know what life would be like with out our membership. To know that our family has been sealed together forever is a wonderful blessing.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith every day, one day at a time. There are no days off with God. I try to be a tool in his hands. One day I'm a hammer, the next day I'm a taxi driver. I participate in most every church activity I can find. When we travel, we attend the wards and branches in the area we find ourselves in. It's always amazing how organized the church is. Keeping the commandments is always a struggle, but life is better when I do. Listening to our church leaders is a great blessing. We have such great leadership. Not to mention a living prophet! Serving our members is a way for me to grow closer to Christ. Threw service, I feel like I'm serving God. I also learn much about others and myself as I serve.
