Hi I'm Mike

I am an avid photographer, digital artist, franchising executive, father, husband and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a convert to the LDS church of 24 years. I went to college at a Southern Methodist University for their MBA program where I studied real estate finance and development. I have used that that learning my whole life in the franchising inudustry helping people reach their dream of business ownership and financial success.

Why I am a Mormon

I was first introduced to the church through a friend who gave me a Book of Mormon. When he told me what it was I was fascinated that there could be a book on the earth that had actual words of Jesus Christ that I was not aware of. I read that book and learned of the church through two young missionaries and felt the spirit strongly when I asked God through prayer. It was the first time in my life that I felt like I had been answered when I prayed. It was such a strong and influential experience that I have never doubted the truthfulness of the experience. God had heard my prayer and answered me directly. I had asked if the Book of Mormon was true and whether the Church of Jesus Christ Of Latter-day Saints was his church. I heard an answer in my mind and my heart -"Yes it is true!" repeated 3 times. I am a Mormon still because God has continually blessed me for following the principles of the church and I have had many other experiences testifying to my heart that what I am doing is what God wants me to do.

How I live my faith

I serve where I can. I have been asked many times to work with the young men of the church. I currently serve and work with the 16-18 year old young men. I teach lessons to them on Sundays and serve as their Boy Scout leader as well. I also work with local high school sports teams as a photographer. I take pictures and we sell them to parents for a small fee to help raise money for the teams. We typically buy equipment the coach would not normally ever have a budget to buy.

Why do Mormons believe in the Bible?

Mormon's believe in and read the Bible because it contains words of the prophets of old and testifies that Jesus Christ is our Savior. We use the Bible to come closer to God and gain inspiration and direction on how to live our lives. My favorite parts can be found both in New and Old Testament stories such as Elisha and his great faith and Paul and his redemption and great works. The words of Jesus Christ are the most important to me though. His commandments and teachings are the greatest blessings I have. Show more Show less
