Hi I'm Colby

I love this gospel, life, my family, serving a mission, playing piano, sports, dancing, cereal, swimming, music, and I'm a mormon.

About Me

I grew up in the same house my whole life in American Fork, Utah. I have five older brothers, a little sister and a little brother. My Dad and my brothers have always been such big all-stars in my life. I believe that family is so important. We do everything together. We are an athletic family. We play B-ball together all the time. But my passion is soccer, not so much watching it, but being on the field. I like to play any games that are good fun and get you laughing. I'm usually willing to do something if it will make someone laugh, not stupid, but funny. I just like to do anything that is fun and that I will remember. I'm very active and love to be doing something. I wasn't much of a TV watcher, other than watching Basketball or football games with the bros. But we do watch a lot of movies together and quote them all the time. I love to play instruments, sing, dance, but I'm not extremely good at any of them. I love music and the way it can cheer you up, calm you down, or invite the Spirit. I love the outdoors, fishing, shotgun shooting, hiking, running, camping. I love being a good, happy and positive person. I guess I'm soft spoken sometimes, but actions speak louder than words eh? As of right now, I am serving a mission, speaking a different language, trying new foods, meeting people. Most of all I'm telling people what I know about the gospel and loving it. I hope to return afterwards and study communications and journalism, maybe. We'll see.

Why I am a Mormon

I know it is true because I read and prayed about the Book of Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by my actions and by my commitment to strive to be like the Savior whether it is on the field, at school, in the community, or just at home with the family. I have always tried to just be a good, positive person. Today I am serving a mission in Hungary so that I can spread this happy message to others, so they can also come to know more about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints and also come closer to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Who was Joseph Smith?

Joseph Smith was a great man. It was said of him that he lived great, and he died great, sealing his testimony with his own blood. He accomplished what not many other men would have been able to do in just under 20 years. He was a humble farm boy, born into a religious family and raised in New York. At the time, there was a lot of commotion going on in America about religion. There was a lot of excitement and Joseph Smith, then only 14 yrs. old, didn't understand why there were so many religions, all teaching from the same book(the Bible) that was supposed to promote good, yet confrontatious words were not uncommon. Why wasn't there one answer that was right for everyone? (Eph 4:5) Joseph pondered for months on the subject. He read James 1:5 and decided to do that. He recieved an answer, an appearance from God the Father and His Son, Jesus Christ. He was called, given authority and commanded to translate another book of scripture, The Book of Mormon. He set up Christ's church again here on the earth. He helped call Apostles and received much more counsel through modern revelation. Joseph Smith was often persecuted for his position. Many believed him, most did not and hated him for it. At the young age of 38, he left behind a wife and children, a band of followers and a name that can't be forgotten. For something that was false? He would not do that. He was willing to die. The Book of Mormon is living proof that he truly was called of God. You should read it to know. Show more Show less
