Hi I'm Mike Young

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up in California in a "small town" between Sacramento and San Francisco. After finishing school, my wife, son and I made the treck to Texas where I am a dentist working mostly with underserved children. We've been here two years and are expecting the next addition to our family in May 2012.

Why I am a Mormon

I know God lives. The human body is a miracle and I am amazed by anyone who could think we've come into existence by simple chance. All things around us point to our Divine Creator. I know Jesus is my Savior and Redeemer. I have experienced the joy and healing that comes with turning to Christ to take away my sins. If I do my best to follow and walk with Him I can feel that joy every day. I know the Bible and Book of Mormon contain the words of life. As I study the words of Christ and His prophets I find clarity in a world of confusion. I love the writings of Paul and stand with him in declaring "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me" (Phillipians 4:13). I know that God continues to call prophets in our days. The heavens are not closed. The Church of Jesus Christ is lead by a prophet and apostles now just as in times past. Our father in heaven answers prayers in the ways and manners He sees fit. I can receive direction for my own life and family because God can communicate with me and any of us if we'll look and listen. I know all of these things to be true and because I know them I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I strive to be an example of Christ to all those around me. As it says in Matthew "...the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister...", and likewise, as His disciple, I believe the best way to be an example of Him is by serving those around me.
