Hi I'm Brooke Edgley

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm eighteen years old. I am Deaf, but I don't let that stop me. I am a percussionist, and enjoy playing guitar and attempting piano. I love to read and paint, and I love being outdoors. I love helping people and seeing them smile. :)

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon, because I felt that it was right for me. I grew up in the church, but all the same I was converted. I had to learn for myself how it was true. A few years ago, we were all challenged to read the Book of Mormon, and I decided to do it. I read through it, and it touched my heart in a way that I can only describe as peace, love, and happiness. I began to try to live the gospel more closely, and have ever been blessed. It took me a while too, because I had some trouble with wanting to go to church and be active. A dear friend of mine noticed, and asked me to go to the Deaf Branch with her, and I did on a whim. What I came to find was a new start. I actually began to understand what was said by the prophets and what the scriptures meant. I began to understand the gospel, and that was huge for me because it was there my whole life but I was ignorant. Now, I'm back strong and hard, and I try my best to be an example to all my friends and family.

How I live my faith

I have served callings in my wards and branches, but I love just helping people, whether it be to randomly leave cupcakes at their houses and doorbell ditch them, or to help them after a disaster. I love just talking to all the older people and hearing all their stories and helping the kids understand how much God really loves them. I try to help my friends by being an example, by saying "No" to R-rated movies and by not swearing around them. It really makes a huge difference.
