Hi I'm Emily

I'm an ice-cream connoisseur, a huge Eagles fan, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I make killer chocolate chip oatmeal raisin cookies and end up eating most of them. Being outside to play football, basketball, volleyball, tennis or anything that can be imagined or made up are among my favorite things. I sing all day long and wait for the day when our lives can be lived in Musical form. The sign of a good day for me is one in which you work hard, play hard, and then are able to fall asleep the instant your head hits the pillow. But the greatest thing about my life is my family. I love spending time with them, especially around the dinner table where I’m surrounded by their great company and even better food.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into a family that practiced this faith. However, I strongly believe that any devotion to faith comes down to personal choice. I wouldn't say that there has been a huge experience that has led me to know this is true for myself. It has been a collection of small miracles that has changed my heart and given me a stronger relationship with my Heavenly Father. I am Mormon because I chose to be because it fills my life with peace and allows me to feel closer to God, Jesus Christ, and my family.

How I live my faith

Faith is easily lived when coupled with love. I find that the greatest way I live my faith is by loving all those in which I come in contact.

What do Mormons believe about the Holy Ghost? Who is the Holy Ghost?

The Holy Ghost is the third member of the Godhead and is a personage of Spirit. His role is to teach, testify, warn, comfort, and to be a constant light to lead us on the correct path and to provide answers to our questions both about God's truth and personal needs. It is through the Holy Ghost that we feel God's love and feel more love for others. It heightens the beauty and good we feel in every day life. The Holy Ghost, also called the Spirit, does not speak to us in a loud or overpowering voice but with a still, soft voice. His influence can fill us with peace or feelings of warmth. It can be hard to describe but is recognizable the more you feel it. Anyone can know the truths of God through the power of the Holy Ghost if they have a faith and are humble. He is the record of heaven and was sent by the Father to teach us. I know that it is through the power of the Holy Ghost that I have come to know that Jesus is the Christ, that The Book of Mormon is true, and that Joseph Smith was prophet. These truths can be known by anyone who seeks for them. The Holy Ghost will fill your heart with peace, a personal witness from God that what you've asked is true. Show more Show less
