Hi I'm Annika

I live in Florida. I am a single mom raising two awesome boys. I am an art teacher.

About Me

I love spending time with my boys and friends. I love traveling, meeting new people, and learning new things. I try to exercise daily and eat right, but I also have a major sweet tooth. Ice cream is my big weakness. We are all Beatles fanatics. "Here Comes the Sun" is my favorite song.

Why I am a Mormon

My mother converted to the church as a teenager. My father's family has been in the church for many generations. I grew up in a predominantly Mormon community. However, in my teens, I began to wonder if the things I had been learning in church and through my parents were really the truth. I was determined to find out. I was greatly influenced by the story of Joseph Smith's First Vision and the scripture James 1:5-6. I decided to follow his example and pray with faith to God. I knew God, IF He really existed, would hear my prayer and answer it. I didn't know how exactly God would answer it or when, but I knew He would. I prayed for quite some time. I was not watching the clock. I poured my heart out to Him with all my concerns and quest for truth. I specifically asked to know if God really existed, if Jesus Christ was the Savior for all mankind, if Joseph Smith was really a prophet, and if the Book of Mormon was of God. I had a strong desire to know the truth. After finishing my prayer, I was filled with joy and peace in my heart. I knew God had heard and answered my sincere prayer. I have always tried to make decisions consistent with my beliefs. It has helped me to find happiness--even when life is tough.

How I live my faith

I serve as a teacher in our women's organization at church. I study the lesson manual and prepare a lesson for church once a month. I also have served as a visiting teacher for many years. I make visits to several sisters in our area. I give them assistance when they need it. Doing this has helped me to open my eyes to the needs of other women in the community. I try to be a friend to everyone I meet.

What is the Law of Chastity?

Annika
Creating children is a very sacred power. Heavenly Father has commanded that this power only be used between a legally married man and woman. It means that we do not have sex before we are married. After we are married, we only have sexual relations with our husband or wife. This is the law of chastity. It protects families. Breaking this law is serious and can have lasting consequences. However, those who have broken the law of chastity can be forgiven through repenting and being obedient. Show more Show less
