Hi I'm Amy

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I live with my husband and my two beautiful daughters in Dallas, Texas. I met my husband while attending BYU. After graduating in 2008, we moved to Texas and added another little girl. Life is good. I owe all my happiness to my family, my faith, and my Savior, Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents, both converts to the church, provided a gospel-centered home for me while growing up. However, I developed a testimony of my own as I read the Book of Mormon, studied its principles, and prayed to know of its truth. I know God hears and answers my prayers and is mindful of me every second. Some very difficult trials have come my way in this life. The only way I've been able to make it through them is by drawing closer to the Savior and relying on Him to guide me, heal me, and teach me. He's able to take the pain and suffering in our lives and turn it into something that blesses us and those around us. His healing power always amazes me. Being a Mormon doesn't mean my life is perfect and happy all the time. But as I look at my life, I know that the times I'm the very happiest are the times when I'm living the commandments of God and losing myself in service. God wants us to be happy. He heals and blesses us and puts people in our lives so that we can be happy. The gospel, eternal life, the Holy Ghost, the Atonement...those are all his gifts to us so that we can simply be happy. We try to make things complicated, but it really is that simple. The Gospel = happiness.

How I live my faith

My faith is who I am. It drives all my decisions, big & small. I know that doing small & simple things consistently - studying the scriptures, praying, attending the temple, serving, etc. - helps me to have the spirit in our home. I strive every day to be more Christlike, more charitable, loving & kind. I often fail, but the effort is there every day. I'm learning that prayers are often answered in unexpected and wondrous ways.
