Hi I'm MarJane

I'm a Mormon. I'm a mother, grandmother, friend, cook, teacher and retired.

About Me

I was born in Lethbridge, Alberta Canada and lived my first 18 years there. I went to Brigham Young University where I graduated with a BS in microbiology and was part of an entertaining group called "Program Bureau" I met and married my sweetheart Gregory there and we have produced four children and 13 grandchildren. We have lived most of our married life in either California or Utah. This past year led us on an adventure, moving to the state of Texas. We love to travel and see new sites, especially historical. We love musical theater. I have seen or participated in over 100 productions. I love to browse book stores for recipes and cook exciting dishes. Finding bargains, crocheting, going to sporting events, exotic car shows, and lounging in Hawaii are my passions

Why I am a Mormon

I started out with a rich heritage of ancestors who found Mormonism and practiced it for 8 generations. But when it comes right down to it, I had to decide for myself if the teachings are the truth. I have studied and prayed for opportunities to have experiences that teach me to know the truth. I believe that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints sets a path for us that as we follow it, will lead us back to our Father in Heaven. We become better people, friends, children, parents and citizens. We are happier because we live lives of purpose, organization and faith. I get all this from my religion.

How I live my faith

One of my favorite things that I do is lead a women's scripture study class on Tuesday mornings. This year we are reading in the Old Testament and trying to memorize 25 key scriptures from those books. I go to church each week, visit other sisters that I'm responsible for, and try and give service when needed. Prayer is an important part of my beliefs. I know that the Lord answers my prayers and it makes me feel connected to a loving Heavenly Father.
