Hi I'm Michelle Thompson

I am from the United States. I am a writer, a friend, and a Mormon.

About Me

As a child I was exposed to various lifestyles and religions. This blessing of diversity has led me to embrace different kinds of people, cultures, and teachings. Because of which, I have not always been a practicing member of the LDS faith. Nonetheless, it is because of that exposure I can say, without reservation, that due to the varied ideals and understandings that the world provides, the teachings of the Gospel can often be difficult or uncomfortable to practice. Still, I have never regret the choice to try, follow, rise above, and call myself a member of the LDS faith. The Gospel, and it's believers, are beautiful in both their complexities and simplicity, and I find that I am consistently and persistently challenged and uplifted by my participation and association.

Why I am a Mormon

Like many Believers in Christ, choosing to follow the promptings and teachings of The Lord God is a day-in-day-out endeavor. There are moments when it all makes sense, then there are moments when one struggles to know if the decisions they've made are really what's best. On the days of uncertainty, I am grateful for the blessing(s) of being a member of the LDS Church. It is within the graceful boundaries set by the leaders of the Church that I am anchored, I am enlightened, and I am humbled to understanding of who I am and what it means to be a child of God.

How I live my faith

Each morning I wake to a series of choices. Some have been made, and some are yet to be discovered. Before I partake in any of them, I bow my head, fold my arms, close my eyes and say, " Without your spirit, Lord, I have no discipline or discernment. Please soften my heart to hear that which Thou would have me do". I do not lead a perfect life, but with that simple morning task I do my best to try and follow one.
