Hi I'm Talitha

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently living back in Poole, England with my family. I have lived in Stockholm and Göteborg, Sweden for 3 1/2 years and enjoyed the people and culture and learning the language. I have worked as a nanny for a few years, and have also worked in customer service for a few years too. I have always enjoy traveling, meeting and working with new people. I have recently been diagnosed with terminal cancer, so cannot work or travel any more, but I have been feeling at peace with this and my faith has strengthened me so much because of the knowledge of the plan of happiness that this gospel gives me.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents are both members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormons) and so I was brought up with the teachings and lifestyle that come with that. But, like anyone and everyone I had to come to my own decision about what I wanted for myself in life and how I wanted to live. When I was 17 I got a job working away from home, and for the first time I was away from my family for an extended period of time and I needed to decide if going to church and reading my scriptures is what I wanted to do, or if it was just something I did because that was what I was taught. So I decided to do as Moroni (a prophet in the Book of Mormon) said to do "Behold, I would exhort you that when ye shall read these things, if it be wisdom in God that ye should read them, that ye would remember how merciful the Lord hath been unto the children of men, from the creation of Adam even down until the time that ye shall receive these things, and ponder it in your hearts. And when ye shall receive these things, I would exhort you that ye would ask God, the Eternal Father, in the name of Christ, if these things are not true; and if ye shall ask with a sincere heart, with real intent, having faith in Christ, he will manifest the truth of it unto you, by the power of the Holy Ghost. And by the power of the Holy Ghost ye may know the truth of all things." I have read the Book of Mormon, and pondered it's words, then prayed to my Heavenly Father and asked if the things I had been taught by my parents and church leaders, and the things that I have read are true, and through this I know that the things I believe and have been taught are true. And because of this I choose of my own free will to be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of latter Day Saints, which brings me such happiness and guidance in an unsure world.

How I live my faith

Because I have always attended church, read scriptures and prayed it is a way of life for me and is the natural thing to do. But by doing this I become more aware of people around me and their needs and wants and I like to help out where I can.
