Hi I'm Stephanie

Wife. PE Teacher. Animal Enthusiast. Nature Explorer. Life Lover. Convert. Daughter of God. Mormon.

About Me

I am a recent BS & MS graduate in Exercise and Sport Science from Oregon State University. I am now at PE teacher at a local Elementary School. I enjoy being active, spending time outdoors, and being with friends and family. In February 2010, I was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. It has been the best decision of my life. None of my family are members, and my decision to be baptized created a lot of tension within my family. Now over five years later, my family is incredibly supportive and I have not once regretted my choice. I know that my life is on the right path and I love having the constant companionship with the Spirit. I was sealed to the most wonderful man in the Portland Temple in September of 2012. I love my husband and love the direction my life has gone since I made the choice to join this church. I can't wait to see what else life has in store!

Why I am a Mormon

All of high school I was involved in a Christian youth group called Young Life and attended church and bible studies regularly. This was an amazing experience and helped me develop a deep love for the Savior. By senior year, I thought my spiritual life was set. Freshman year at OSU I continued to go to a variety of churches and was involved in a Christian outreach group on campus. But I still wasn't where I wanted to be spiritually. Because of friends who cared about me and loved me, I was introduced the restored gospel of Jesus Christ- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Over time, missionaries asked me if I wanted to be baptized. It seemed like too much work, and I knew my family would be against it. But the more I prayed, the more I knew that this was the true church. Despite a lot of opposition from family and friends, I was baptized on February 13, 2010. I have continued to love my choice more and more every day. I am a Mormon because I know what life is like without the gospel. I never want to be there again, and love how this church has changed my life for the better.

Are Mormons Christians?

Stephanie
Before I became a member of this church, I was a Christian. Now as a member, I am still a Christian with an even deeper love for Christ. "Mormon" is just a nick name. The correct name for this church is The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This name says it all. We believe and study the Bible, old a new testament. We also believe The Book of Mormon to be another testament of Jesus Christ. Show more Show less
