Hi I'm Holly

I work with children. I love the outdoors. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm recently married and living in beautiful sunny California. I graduated with my BA in Psychology and now work as a Behavior Interventionist helping young children with autism. I love to go camping and exploring, but also enjoy staying home and reading a good book or watching a good movie. I worked with the Boy Scouts of America for six summers teaching shotgun and rilfe merit badges and loved every minute of it! I love traveling anywhere I've never been before and experiencing different cultures.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the gospel, meaning my parents were both members of the church when I was born. However, it wasn't until I was in my early 20's that I really started to gain my own testimony and really understand why I wanted to be a member. Before this experience, I had not gone to church for almost two years and wasn't living many of the standards of the church. There came a point where someone questioned my strength and belief in the church. It was this pivotal moment in my life when I realized how much I had been missing by not allowing the gospel in my life. I made some really difficult changes and began living the standards, attending my meetings, and doing things the Lord expects of me. It was this fantastic experience that made me realize for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints really is the true church, and that by living the gospel of Jesus Christ my life can be, and is a million times better. I am a Mormon because I know that it's true. I've lived without it in my life, and I know how difficult and painful everything is when we don't rely on our Savior for help and guidance. The Spirit has helped me gain this testimony for myself.

How I live my faith

I love living my faith everyday! Each morning my husband and I study our scriptures together, then we have family and individual prayers. On Monday evenings we come together and share a spiritual message and work on strengthening our relationship with each other and with the Lord. We attend the temple weekly and perform sacred ordinances for family members who have passed on and did not have the opportunity to hear and accept the gospel in this life. We worship on Sunday and devote our whole day to our Father in Heaven by doing only those things that uplift others and bring us closer to Him. I also work as an assistant secretary in the women's organization of our church. I meet individually with women in my area monthly and listen and assist them in their needs, as well as share a spiritually uplifting message of the gospel. I also attend any other church related activities which always center around our Savior and help me to be more like Him, whether it's doing service work, learning how to be a loving wife and someday mother, or learning about my Savior.
