Hi I'm Payge

I love to laugh and have the world laugh with me. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student who just recently graduated in Vocal Performance. This past year I have discovered that not only do I love to sing, but I love to teach it as well. It has brought a new joy in my life being able to watch others improve and get to know themselves through music. I love people! I love to listen to their lives and hear people's points of views. I love to hear what they have to say and understand why they are the way they are. I love to skip through fields with friends and laugh until my eyes water. I have recently made the decision to take 18 months of my life dedicated to the Lord by serving in the Singapore mission! It has been one of the scariest and best decisions I have ever made. I am so excited to share the gospel with those who are yearning to hear it.

Why I am a Mormon

I was fortunately blessed with loving family who love the Lord. Both my parents are converts and because of their decision, I am part of this gospel as well. Unfortunately I didn't always feel the same towards the gospel as I do now. Just like everyone else, I went through hard times and many trials that almost became unbearable. I became a bitter person who just wanted an out in all my pain and suffering. My heart became closed off and I refused to listen to anyone. What changed my life around was EFY Especially for Youth, a summer program that we have from ages 12-18 where we learn of the gospel and of ourselves. It brought me to open up my heart again and realize that through all my trials and tribulations, the Savior never left me. It became a turning point in my life. I ended up going to college and continuing to grow. I was able to meet wonderful people and befriend many. I was greeted like I was a long lost friend who has finally come home. Ever since, i have continued to grow into myself and build that relationship with the Savior. By being obedient and learning of Him, it has opened many doors for me in my life that I never thought it would be possible. It has brought a new founded joy within my life which I now know will always be within me. I am a Mormon because I know the gospel is true. With all the things I have seen in my short time I have been here, I continue to feel that strong conviction within my soul that the gospel is true and that God exists. He loves me and I feel it everyday and I'm so appreciative of that.

How I live my faith

Everyday I am surrounded by theater and music for it is the career path I have chosen. Because I am surrounded my music, music has taken a big role in my life. Whenever I am feeling down or feel as if something isn't right, I sing a song within my heart and it helps me get through my day. It reminds me daily of my Savior and how He loves me and how He is always present. I live my faith through daily scripture study and praying to my Father in Heaven. I apply the things I am taught into my lessons at church when I teach the women. It has helped me have a greater understanding of the gospel which helps me grow. I have also discovered this new sense of joy when I teach others of the gospel. It is reaffirming and delightful to me to be able to share the gospel and know it is helping me be the person my Father knows I can be.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

We are all children of God. He loves us and we love Him. When we serve others, we are serving our Father. When we show our love towards our fellowmen, we are showing our Saviour how much we love Him. As members we believe that we don't choose who we serve, we just help those who are in need. Just as the Good Samaritan in the Book of Luke did for the injured man, he didn't pass him by because they weren't friends, he helped him because he loved him. It doesn't matter what religion/race/social background, so on, we are to help God's children for that is what He would want us to do. Show more Show less
