Hi I'm Ed

I'm studying the law, newly married, and I'm a mormon

About Me

In the past few years, I was accepted to study the law through a mentoring progam with a under a qualified lawyer that will allow me to sit for the bar exam. Most of my days include an 8 hour work day a law office followed by another 3 - 5 hours of studying at night and it can be exhausting. I am also a newly married, so In addition to the above, I am learning how to balance work, study, and family time. I am grateful to my wife, who helps me find the balance I need.

Why I am a Mormon

I remember that I wasn't all that interested in church in my early teenage years, and felt uncomfortable in ecclesiastical settings because I didn't know too much about the church or the scriptures. That all changed when I went to church and found a great group of friends who took me in and made me feel comfortable. I started studying the Book of Mormon more and trying to learn more about the church. I wanted to know if the scriptures and church were true, so I asked Heavenly Father in prayer if these things were true. Heavenly Father did answer my prayers and let me know that the Book of Mormon is True and so is the church. Thus after having a chance to investigate the church on my own, I have my own answer about the truthfulness of the church and the Book of Mormon. I have never forgotten the answers to my prayers.

How I live my faith

I do the little things that count. For me daily prayer and scripture study are so important. It is important for me to go to church on the sabbath and renew my promises to Heavenly Father I have the responsibility of helping out with the missionary efforts of my local church unit, so that means I get to talk about the church with friends and neighbors. I try to lend a helping hand where ever I can. I try to live in such a way that people, from their own observation, will notice that I am a little 'peculiar' and ask questions of me. .

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

Ed
The Word of Wisdom is a law of health. We believe that taking care of our bodies not only leads to better physical health but additional spiritual blessings as well. The word of wisdom warns us not to drink alcoholic beverages, smoke, or chew tobacco, drink tea, or use illegal drugs. In addition we are counseled to take care of our bodies by regular exercise and healthy eating habits. We believe that following this 'word of wisdom' will result in not only healthier and stronger bodies, but great spiritual blessings as well. Show more Show less
