Hi I'm Cait

I'm a college student. I'm a writer. I love learning and trying new things. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a college student majoring in English. I love writing, reading, running and cartooning. I was born and raised in the western U.S., but moved to the east for school. I drive a bright yellow car named Penelope. I've raised a chicken. I love to run in the rain. I'm studying Chinese. I'm a nanny. My favorite thing to do is to learn and try new things. Last spring I wanted to become a freestyle rapper. This spring I'm learning how to roller skate. I try to face every challenge with an unshakable sense of humor.

Why I am a Mormon

My faith keeps me grounded. My faith gives me an understanding of conflict on a global and personal level. I am a Mormon because I love God. I believe He sends His prophets to the earth to guide all people. I believe the Book of Mormon is the word of God. I am a Mormon because it brings the most clarity and happiness to my life of anything I've ever experienced.

How I live my faith

I'm a firm believer that there is no cookie-cutter way to be a Mormon. I have never been very good at being the quiet girl with the ethereal glow in the back of the room, but I've come to know that God doesn't want to see a performance; He wants to see real people living by their genuine faith. I live my faith by trying every day to grow in understanding about God and His will for me. In good times and bad, I thank God for His blessings. I'm constantly confused when people ask me the question, "What church do you go to?" I live in an area where religion is like a club and you have a weekly meeting every Sunday, but real faith isn't so fleeting. Real faith requires commitment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It's not just a feeling, either. It's something you have to do. I am not perfect at living my faith, but I try to live it every day through service, humor, gratitude and positivity.

What is the Law of Chastity?

Cait
The Law of Chastity is the law that God has given us regarding sexual morality. Living on a college campus, this is an issue that comes up a lot. People are always asking me why I am so dedicated to remaining chaste. I get all sorts of questions - why, how, what, and more commonly... "are you serious?!" Choosing to refrain from a sexual relationship before marriage has been one of the most defining decisions of my short life. I believe that the Law of Chastity will bless the lives of all those who obey it.  Show more Show less
