Hi I'm Gary

I'm a convert to the church. I served a mission in Las Vegas. Have a family of six children ages 13 to 31.

About Me

At 57 I have come to learn most families are dysfunctional. The world can beat us up and at every turn a bump in the road. Children can also drive us crazy. In the end the glass is well over half full. I and my family are healthy. I grew up poor but now own my own business. I have a great family. Life is good. Life offers us so many challenges and I have come to realize that these experiences, while painful, only make us stronger and help us to understand somewhat what our Heavely Father must go through looking down on us.

Why I am a Mormon

I was of another faith as a child. My family was introduced to the church when I was young. I grew up on the poor side of town and with that our family was learning as we grew. I did not go on my mission until I was 23 and it was there I set my compass firmly in the gospel. The LDS faith gives me great moral boundaries that brings happiness in my life. It helps me raise my family and keep us close in this difficult world. I am thankful for the support my congregation gives to support my family in so many ways.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by living the commandments, trying my best to serve others and obey the golden rule. I am far from being perfect but I try to lead by example. I continue to study the life of the Savior and try to be more like Him. I try to view the bumps as challenges rather than obsticles. I view the glass as well over half full despite my struggles.I do not ask my children to do things I would not do but I hold them accountable. Our family demands each other to stay withnin life's moral boundaries. We help each other to do so.

What is the role of the husband and the wife in the family?

The role is to lead by example and continue to become better. No one of us is perfect but we should lead by example. Show more Show less
