Hi I'm Jeff

My wife and I have three wonderful kids, and one grandson. We live in Idaho. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am 49. I don't feel that old-but don't we all. I am the father of 3 the grandfather of 1. We have one still at home so that part of life is almost over for us. I work in the construction industry as a heavy equipment operator. I remember as a little boy playing in the sand box building roads and stuff with all them Tonka toys and now they pay me to do that, isn't life funny that way. My wife and kids say that I just play in the dirt all day and she is usually right.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I have received a testimony that the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ is true. I l love the Book of Mormon because it testifies of Christ and His atoning sacrifice for all of us. I am a Mormon because I know that Joseph Smith saw the Father and the Son and was a prophet called of God

How I live my faith

I live my faith by going about doing good. I ask in prayer each day that my Heavenly Father will guide me through the Holy Ghost to serve Him and uplift my fellow man. Jesus said as He has loved us, we should love others. We try to follow His example of service to others by participating in community service projects and visiting church members and others regularly to check on their wellbeing.

What are Mormon church services like? Are visitors allowed at church meetings? Can I attend church?

Mormon church services are conducted in a three-hour block of time. The first hour is Sacrament meeting where we listen to speakers talking about one of the gospel principles, as well as partake of the sacrament to renew our convenants with God. The second hour of time is our Sunday School class. This year we are studying the New Testament. A teacher gives the lesson and encourages class participation and discussion. During the third hour, the ladies go to Relief Society and the men go to Priesthood meeting where we learn more about gospel principles and how they apply to our lives as men and women of the church. During the second and third hours, our young children attend Primary where they sing songs and have lessons about gospel principles on their level. Our teenagers attend Young Women and Young Mens classes where they, too, learn more about gospel principles and how they apply to their lives. Visitors are always welcome Show more Show less
