Hi I'm Rachel

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a mother of three small children and wife to a man who rescues me everyday. I like teaching piano lessons, baking bread, and hanging out with my family.

Why I am a Mormon

I love the gospel. I have found a way of life that brings me lasting peace and happiness. The teachings of the church guide me in being a better person, a more loving friend, a committed spouse, and a diligent mother. My church meetings and activities support me in learning about and living the things that are most important to me. I find comfort and strength to carry me through times of difficulty. I find opportunities to grow and serve others. I feel blessed to have knowledge of correct principles that will keep me and my family safe in a troubled world. It's a challenge to continually live the commandments and do better each day and that makes me a better person. I know that my husband and I can have an eternal marriage and that means that the little things we do to love each other matter. I know that my most important responsibility is parenting and I'm grateful that I have Heavenly Father's help in that most difficult and rewarding role. I know He loves me and I can ask for wisdom that I do not have, strength that isn't mine, and comfort that I need. Every time I have tried to follow Jesus Christ and live the way He wants me to, I have a more abundant life. That's why I'm a Mormon!

How I live my faith

I teach songs to the children on Sunday that help them enjoy music and feel Heavenly Father's love for them. We sing about nature and find joy in the earth and we sing songs that remind us to take care of bodies and be happy in our homes. They concepts they learn through music stick with them and come back at special times to cheer them and comfort them and remind them that they are loved. In my own home, I live my faith by holding family scriptures study, prayer, and family home evening on Monday nights. We work together and play together so that we can grow in love for each other. We eat nutritious foods and exercise and limit our use of media. We read good books, listen to uplifting music, and watch wholesome movies. We take meals to our friends when they are sick or in need. We help clean up the church. We help carry boxes and clean houses when our friends move. We visit our friend in the hospital and think of ways to cheer her up. I meet with other women in my church and we teach each other topics such as budgeting, organizing, cooking, sewing, exercising, loving our families, and many other things.
