Hi I'm Danielle

I love lots of things that start with the letter M: mountains, math, music, missionary work, and my mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm from a little town in Southern Idaho. I was born into a family with parents who are highly devoted to the Lord and with six amazing siblings that are my best friends. I've always loved being outdoors. Hiking, camping, running, swimming, and other water sports are some of my favorite things to do (Note: I love swimming and running in general, but being outside while doing them is definitely the way to go). I was homeschooled growing up and had a lot of extra time to pursue my interests. I have always loved music, art and the sciences, but after turning 18 and beginning a four-year degree at BYU-Idaho I found an especial interest in mathematics. I graduated in July of 2015 with a degree in Applied Mathematics. After an internship at a nuclear power plant and finishing the end of the 2016 school year teaching middle school math, I decided to put my career and graduate school plans aside for 18 months as I serve a full-time mission for my church.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I believe in Jesus Christ, and I believe that this is Christ's original church restored once again to this earth. After Christ died there was a slow apostasy that occurred as all of the apostles Christ had chosen died and as corruption entered and changed the church that once was His. For a time Christ's church was no longer on the earth. In 1820, God and his Son, Jesus Christ, appeared to Joseph Smith. Over the course of several years Joseph Smith received instructions on how to restore the Christ's original church to the earth, just as it had been when Christ had first instituted it. Yes, I am a Mormon because I believe in Jesus Christ, and because I believe that I belong to an organization that was founded and is currently led by Him. I love Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to live the way Jesus Christ would. I try to live my life in purity by respecting my body and my mind, and never doing anything that would damage them (partaking of drugs, alcohol, remaining morally clean and so on). I try to live humbly and serve others with my time and resources. I try to help those who are lonely, sick, poor, who struggle with anxiety or depression, or who struggle in any other way, because I believe that is what Jesus Christ would do if he were here. I try to live a good life, and I try to stand up for good things--honesty, kindness, morality, sincerity, loyalty, selflessness, etc. I stand up for these things by trying hard to do them and supporting others who do them as well. I strive to be obedient to the will of God, just as Jesus Christ did. I know I'm not perfect, but I try to be patient with myself, just as I think Christ would be if he were here. When it comes down to it, my religion, the way I live, and every aspect of my life is centered around Jesus Christ.

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?
