Hi I'm Tameka

I love family history. I am African American. I'm also a Mormon.

About Me

Hello, I'm a black female from the South Georgia. I grew up in a small town where there was not much to do. With a determine mom, I was able to finish high school and finish college. At a early age, I learn to love books. I would constantly be in the library. While my friends would go out, I would be at home reading. I had the opportunity to travel to many different places and to see what the world had to offer.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I found out that the Book of Mormon is true. I was at a point in my life that I knew I needed to change. I called a friend who was a member and she got in touch with the missionaries for me. During the time I was taken lesson from the missionaries, they asked me to pray and ask God if what they taugt me was true. I had a strong belief in God. So I prayed and prayed. I was scared but I knew God would take care of me. He answered my prayers and I went forth and joined the church.

How I live my faith

I live my faith one day at a time. I was able to serve a mission for 18 months. I grew so much during that time. I taught the small kids for 2 years. Actually they taught me since I was new to the church. Now I teach Sunday School and lead the choir. It is a blessing in my life to serve others and help others to grew in their faith and testimony. I learn as I help those, I also strengthen my own testimony.
