Hi I'm Kristin

I'm a mother. I'm a photographer. I'm a blogger. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a stay-at-home mother with 5 daughters ages 1 - 13. I love photography because it helps me to to see the beauty in the ordinary. It's important to me to capture my family's moments and record our history visually. I love serving in the Church. I love to teach and to find ways to make teaching fun. I love blogs and all the creative inspiration to be found on the internet.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My family on both sides are long-time members of the Church, so I have always enjoyed a tradition of church attendance and service. I continue to follow the gospel, not because it is easy, or because I follow blindly, but because I believe it to be true. I have come to know my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ, and know that they love me. I believe the President and Prophet of the Church is God's Prophet to the world today. I believe the Bible and the Book of Mormon are true books of divine instruction. I am a Mormon because I believe.

How I live my faith

One of the things I love most about the Church is the opportunity we have to serve. I have been a teacher to children, youth and adults. I have taught the children's choir and presided over our local children and youth organizations. I have worried and worked and prayed and been inspired and uplifted through each of these opportunities. They are all challenging and extremely rewarding. I love serving as a visiting teacher - this is when I am assigned a companion and we visit several other women in our ward. We teach a brief lesson and check in every month to see how things are going in their homes. I love the friendships that I make through this program. I love knowing that the individuals in our church are all known and being cared for. I have a blog in which I share creative methods for giving the visiting teaching message each month. It has been a great joy for me to put some extra time and thought into these messages, and then to have a fantastically positive interaction with other members throughout the world who appreciate and use them. I also live my faith in my home with weekly Family Home Evenings. Every Monday night we have a gospel lesson very brief with our youngest daughters having small attention spans!, a treat and a fun activity. We read scriptures and pray together nightly as a family. I try to read my scriptures personally on a daily basis and pray morning and evening. When I do these things, I feel a great strength and peace in my life. I come to know my Heavenly Father better, and what His will is for me.
