Hi I'm Tony

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Nearing my forties but still a child of God. Husband to a loving and beautiful wife who deserves better but loves me unconditionally. Father of 3 precious boys born in 1998, 2000, and 2003. Avid motorcycle rider.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a convert who grew up as an atheist. I learned that Christ was our Lord and Savior on my own and spent a few years searching for a church. After attending various Protestant churches I continued to feel that something was missing. A friend from my childhood who was also an atheist had converted to the LDS Church shared some information about the Church and lent me a copy of The Book of Mormon. I read, prayed, and a few weeks later was baptized. I am LDS because it is the True and Restored Church of Jesus Christ on the earth, with a living Prophet and Apostles, and truly inspired leaders at all levels. Christ is the head of our Church, Thomas S. Monson is His Prophet today. The Book of Mormon is the Word of God, translated by the Prophet Joseph Smith.

How I live my faith

Service to others, as often and whenever needed.

How can faith in Jesus Christ influence us in our marriages and family relationships? in our friendships?

When we have faith in Christ we seek to follow his example and his teachings. Christ taught us by example to love one another, to be charitable, to bear one another's burdens, to be honest, etc... A strong faith in Christ will permeate all aspects of our life and we will love thy neighbor as thyself. Strengthening all relationships in a positive way. Show more Show less

Are Mormons Christians?

Dictionary.com defines Christian as "a person who believes in Jesus Christ" or "a person who exemplifies in his or her life the teachings of Christ." Christ is the head of our faith, everything we do is in his name. He is our Lord and Savior, our Redeemer, and only through him can we attain salvation. He is our example, and though we can not live a perfect life like he did, we do our best to be as Christ-like as possible in thought, word, and deed.   Show more Show less

Simply put, Mormon women are awesome, and I'm not just saying that because my wife is one. LDS women embody faith, virtue, and charity and all the goodness that goes along with those. Men and women are equal both in and out of Church. Show more Show less

How can I know Mormonism is true?

Short answer: There is only one answer and that is to pray to Heavenly Father in the name of Jesus Christ and ask him if it is true. The Holy Ghost will confirm the truth to you. The long answer is, "it depends" but will always culminate with the short answer. As an adult convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a lifelong skeptic of all things, Heavenly Father chose for me to take the scenic route, so when I felt the Spirit, there was no questioning it. I attended many churches of various faiths, and each one seemed to be great, but missing a small part of the truth. That was revealed to me when a friend lent me a copy of the Book of Mormon. Once I began to read the Book of Mormon with an open heart and mind, and desire to know the truth of it, it was confirmed to me through prayer that the Book of Mormon is indeed Scripture. As titled, it is "Another Testament of Jesus Christ," translated by the Prophet Joseph Smith. Show more Show less

Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon temples? What goes on in Mormon temples?

Temples are "sacred", not secret. Everyone is invited to attend the temple as frequently as possible, but must be worthy to enter the House of the Lord. There is nothing secret about what it takes to be worthy to enter the temple. Observe the commandments, keep your baptismal covenants, and pay your tithing pretty much sums it up. In the temple we perform sacred ordinances for ourselves and the dead by proxy. We may be sealed to our families for time and all eternity, or, allow those who have not had the opportunity in their lifetime the same blessings. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

It is life changing. It is hard, because much is asked of us and our standards are high, but it is worth it in every way. It is wonderful, because it is a way of life that has blessed myself and my family. It is awesome to be surrounded by such loving devoted followers of Christ.
