Hi I'm Chris

I design and build rockets and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband, father, and grandfather. I was born in California but have lived the last 21 years of my life in northern Alabama. I went to Brigham Young University and graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering in 1980. I have had a rich and varied career that has taken me all over the United States and once to Russia. My wife and I are very interested in renewable energy and have built a home based upon energy saving concepts and technologies.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was born my family was already members of the Church. I grew up learning the teachings and doctrines of Jesus Christ and have tried to live his commandments. The Lord has blessed me in many ways and given me a full life. During my college days I served a mission for the Church in the northern New York state area and was given opportunities to see many sites and buildings related to the organization of the Church in the early 1800s. During my youth and adult life I have been given many opportunities to teach and to lead and these experiences have anchored me in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. I have come to know through personal experiences and inspiration from God that He lives and His Son, Jesus Christ is my Savior and Redeemer. I have learned that faith in Jesus will help me obey all of His commandments and receive His promised blessings. I believe the solutions to all the many problems in our society and throughout the world are found in the fullness of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He has sent His power, the priesthood back to the Earth to help His mighty work move across the world in preparation for His glorious second coming. I believe the principals and ordinances of the Gospel of Jesus Christ arm us with the power to withstand Satan and his followers and to properly prepare for world events and crises.

How I live my faith

During my adult life I have served in many capacities in the Church. I currently have a curious combination of responsibilities teaching high school students very early every school morning seminary and once a month teaching the older group of men High Priests as well as visiting and teaching several families in our Ward. A few years ago I participated in our community in forming a Rotary Club international civic organization not related to our church. During the formation process I was elected to serve as it's first president which was a great joy and let me speak frequently with many of the leaders of our community.
