Hi I'm Kurt

I'm a Mormon, better yet, I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

About Me

I am a father of six children, four girls and twin boys. My wife and I have been happily married for over 25 years. I am a Manufacturing Engineer by trade and have worked in manufacturing since graduating from college with an engineering degree. My family and I have moved quite a bit during our married life due to job changes and the impacts of the economy. I am very active in the Boy Scouts of America and have had the opportunity of leading youth in Church assignments. I love camping and outdoor activities. I am grateful to live in the United States of America. I had the opportunity to serve a mission for the Church in South America and loved serving the remarkable people in the country of Peru.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born and raised in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was taught by my parent well and was very active in Church programs. The reason I am a member of the Church is not only because I grew up in the Church, it is because I was taught to pray and ask God for myself. I have been taught that God will answer our prayers and that we are responsible to search him out. I have had to do all of the things that people who have converted to the Church have had to do. I have read the Book of Mormon and compared it's teachings with the Holy Bible. I have prayed diligently regarding the Book of Mormon and have personally received my answer from God that it is another witness of the divinity of his Son Jesus Christ. I have had to pray to God to know if Joseph Smith was a prophet that was chosen by him to restore his Church upon the earth in these latter days. I have also had to pray about each of the successive prophets that were called to serve, including the current prophet Thomas S. Monson. I have had to do all of these things to know for myself that the Church is true. I have received that witness through the sweet warm feelings of the Holy Ghost. I know that I am in God's true Church because he has and continually answers my prayers and questions.

How I live my faith

I am trying diligently to follow the teachings and examples of the Savior Jesus Christ. I fall short every day and wish that I was better. I am trying to constantly repent and be a better person, but it is difficult to live in these challenging times and keep strong to what is true. I have had the opportunity of serving as a full time Missionary in Peru. That was a remarkable experience and one that helped me to better understand the Lord's sacrifice and teachings. My wife and I were married in the Salt Lake City Temple. We have tried to live the teachings of being an eternal family. My wife and I are equal partners in our relationship, we both have the same responsibilty to teach and lead our six children. We work hard to take care of one another and strive to keep the Savior central in our relationship. We both know that this is the success of our marriage, sharing with one another and with the Lord. I have had the opportunity to be a teacher of youth, adults and even had the opportunity to serve in leadership positions. I have learned how to be a better person, how to sacrifice and how to love those individuals that I was called to teach. I do it to serve the Lord and his children. I have especially enjoyed working with the young men that are 12 - 18 years of age. In the Church, the Boy Scouts of America program is our week day program for the young men. The association with scouting has introduced me to great leaders of youth in other religious organizations that love the young men and are striving to help them become successful fathers and leaders. I have been blessed with personal revelation at it relates to my family, my work and my church service opportunities. I have found that as I strive to follow the Savior's teachings of loving others, I become blessed with a greater understanding of who he is and how much of an influence he is in my daily life. I better understand his divine role as my personal Savior and Redeemer
