Hi I'm Neal

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I look forward to every spring because it gives me the opportunity to get out and plant a garden. There is nothing better than going out in the summer and the majority of my dinner from the backyard. I live in a small city where there seems to be more horses than people. The people here are very friendly and willing to share with their neighbors.

Why I am a Mormon

The LDS lifestyle is so compatible with who I am, that it makes sense to be a Mormon. I work in the healthcare profession and love my job. It is great to help sick people become well. It would be even better if everyone paid closer attention to the commandments of God. Those who live the principles of the Gospel of Jesus Christ are typically healthier people.

How I live my faith

I have the unique opportunity of hosting the Full-time Missionaries in my basement apartment. It is true they don't pay rent - at least not in money- but the blessings that come are worth much more that the income I would receive from charging rent.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

It may seem odd to think that a young man or woman would take 1-1/2 to 2 years of their life to dedicate every waking moment to preaching the gospel, but when you truly know that what you have is worth so much you want to share it. Just think of something you value the most. If you could share that with those you love, wouldn't you want to? If you see someone with something of value that they could easily share with you, wouldn't you want them to share it with you. Well if you haven't had the experience of hearing the Gospel of Jesus Christ, you probably don't understand why missionaries are out there trying to find people to teach. Give them a chance, listen to their message, listen to their conviction to what they teach, listen to the "spirit" of what they are saying. You won't be disappointed. Why are missionaries out there? I am reminded of the words of a song sung by Kenneth Cope "Because I Have Been Given Much, I too Must Give" The third verse goes something like this, "Because of Thy life's mission Lord, I too must serve. I'll leave the comfort of my home to teach thy word. I'll seek thy sheep who've gone astray, and those who've never known the way. I will make Thy work, my work today." When you see these missionaries out in their white shirts and dark suits, with their nametags, read the nametag carefully, you will see two names on that nametag The Elder or Sister's name then the name JESUS CHRIST in big capital letters. They are out there representing Jesus Christ. Take time to understand why they are out there. You might want to just listen to what they have to say... it couldn't hurt.
