Hi I'm Cort

I grew up in Southern California, I now live in Idaho, and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a father with four children. After graduating from college, I married my wife and began to work as an accountant. I love to play and watch sports. This also involves my children's athletic events.

Why I am a Mormon

Ever since I was a child, I have known the gospel to be true. Even though I grew up in a big city and most of my classmates were not Mormon, I felt peace as I kept the commandments. I never felt alone. Being a member of this church requires committment but that has never been difficult for me. Again, it is because of the peace that I have felt in my life. Sure I have concerns and trials like everybody else that come with raising a family and living in this world but being a Mormon and living by the standards gives me hope and peace in this chaotic world. That is why I continue to be a Mormon. Also, I love my family very much and the gospel gives me hope that I can be with my family forever.

How I live my faith

I try to be an example in the community and my workplace. Over the years, I have been heavily involved in coaching my children in their athletic competitions and I have tried to teach them about doing their best. That winning and losing is really not that important. I try to teach them traits and characteristics that will help them become good husbands and fathers. To be responsible adults in the communities where they will end up living. I also try to be a good neighbor and assist others in their needs. A big focus for me on living my faith is visiting the temple on a regular basis. The promise of an eternal family means so much to me. I try to live in a manner that the Holy Ghost will guide me and give me answers to many of my concerns. I definitely know that prayers offered in faith are answered.

Can a husband and wife be together forever? Do Mormons believe that families will live together in heaven?

Through making and keeping promises made in the temples of the church, a husband, wife, and children can be together forever and live in the presence of our Heavenly Father.  Show more Show less
