Hi I'm Kurtis

I'm a husband, father, student, instructional designer, and friend. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My days are typically spent designing courses for a large educational institution in the southwestern United States, working on an assignment that is due for class in the evening, and laughing with my family at all moments in between.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because it makes me happy. It helps me to be a better husband, father, and friend. It teaches me to love God and to serve my fellow men. It has helped me to be less selfish and to keep my family as the focus of my life. I know God loves me. I know He answers prayers. As a young man I felt His love when I was baptized and received the Gift of the Holy Ghost. Since that point in my life I have felt his love over and over again. I choose to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints because I have received a witness that it is true. The best part is that this witness has been reinforced time and time again throughout my life.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by personally studying my scriptures, having family prayer, family scripture study, and by attending the temple as often as I can. My favorite part of living my faith is providing priesthood blessings to my family when they are sick or are in need of comfort. Right now I teach a class once a month to men in my congregation. We focus on how to become better fathers, friends, and followers of Christ. I also visit a couple families each month to see how they are doing and to provide any support that they need in dealing with the challenges that we all face in day-to-day living.
