Hi I'm Al

I grew up in Chicago, and moved to Southern California when I was 18. I was baptised in 1991, and Mormon ever since!

About Me

I live in southern California. I am father of two children, a daughter and a adopted son. I am a partner in a small retail business. I have many hobbies, which mostly have to do with natural history. I am interested in geology and have collection of minerals and fossils. I love the outdoors, especially gardening and growing plants.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up Catholic in Chicago Illinois. I went to Catholic grade school, which gave me good grounding in the gospel, however something always seemed to be missing. I had many questions, and no answers. While dating my wife who was Mormon, we had many conversations about the gospel. Her answers always made sense. I was baptized in the Mormon faith 8 months after we were married. That was 20 years ago! There was a lot of resistance from mother at first. Eventually she came to respect my decision and the Mormon faith. She especially liked the focus of the Mormon faith on its children, notably its young men and women. I love my Savior Jesus Christ. I know he loves me and answers my prayers. Living the gospel of Jesus Christ gives me joy every day!

How I live my faith

I am very involved in the Mormon Church. I volunteer my time to help out in my Church, specificaly my Ward, which is the group of people I attend church with on Sundays. My calling is Ward Clerk, which includes making sure the Ward members information is current and accurate. I work closely with my Bishop and his counselors. They are great men that are completely dedicated to the members of our Ward. It's great to be able to give of my time, since the Gospel of Jesus Christ has given me so much.
