Hi I'm Erica

I am a wife, a mother, a sister, a daughter, a training childbirth educator, and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I'm a family lover. I am married to my best friend, and we have a sweet baby boy. The greatest treasures in my life are the gospel of Jesus Christ, and my relationships with my family members and friends. My university field is Family Studies, but currently I am a stay-home mom and am working on my certification to become a childbirth educator. Marriage preparation and childbirth education are topics I am particularly interested in, and I believe that education in those areas can really make a difference in people's lives. I believe in taking time to try to understand people to the best of our ability, and then relying on the Savior who is the only One who truly understands each of us. I think life is a miracle and that every day we have a reason to say, "I am blessed."

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because nothing has ever made me happier than the teachings of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (because they are literally Christ's teachings)! My faith blesses every aspect of my life. It helps my family to find joy together. It gives me a reason to be happy every day, every hour, every minute! It gives me hope and courage in the hard times. It helps me in my educational pursuits. It fills my life with peace. It gives me goals and things to strive for by increasing my perspective. Most of all, it points me to my Savior Jesus Christ and brings me closer to him.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by making God a priority in my life. I try to give Him my best- the best of my time, talents, thoughts and actions. Of course I am imperfect in my attempts to give Him my all, but I keep trying. Each morning I spend time with Him as I pray and study the scriptures. Throughout the day, I try to see others as He sees them, and to treat them as He would want me to.

Do Mormons only help Mormons?

No:) We believe that one of Christ's central teachings is to love one another. To love everyone! He taught that the greatest commandment is to love God, and the second, to love our neighbor as our self. He did not put any restrictions on who we should love, and neither should we. While we are each imperfect at this, our goal is to love every person as a child of God and to serve all of our brothers and sisters. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Absolutely! It only makes sense to me that if God still loved His people, He would continue to call a prophet. This is a pattern that God began with Adam! God calls prophets. But rather than listening to what the world has to say and what I have to say, the best way to know if God still calls prophets today, and to know if Thomas S. Monson is the prophet God has called today to guide the world, is to pray about it and ask God for yourself. I know He will answer you, because He answered me! Show more Show less
