Hi I'm Tim

I'm a father of 4. I work in the field of Electronic Health Records - EHR. I'm a triathlete. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Managing family, work, personal needs and faith can be difficult, but the closer I am to the Lord, the easier it is. When I do what I know is right, I feel less resistance from the world around me - even when I'm in the middle of challenging life situations.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were Mormon so I was raised on the stories of the Bible and Book of Mormon. I went to our church because I liked it and that is what we did. Eventually I understood that liking my church was not enough - I needed to know whether or not the things that I had been taught were true. When I was about 12 years old, I prayed to God to ask him if the Book of Mormon was true. I remember an incredible feeling coming over me and my mind was clear - and I know that the Holy Ghost was telling me that it was true. I then asked if Joseph Smith was a prophet and if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is God's church and had the same experience. I have been able to look back on that day for the rest of my life and know that God knows me, loves me, and answers my prayers.

How I live my faith

Families are eternal, and we are meant to live together forever. The time that I spend with my wife and kids is time strengthening those bonds that will keep us together. I live the high standards that the Lord has given us and have received many comments from co-workers and customers that there is something special about the way that I live.

Why do you have 12 Apostles? They were just meant to be around for the time of Jesus Christ, not to be replaced with new apostles.

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has the same organization as the church that Christ set up through Peter, James, John, and the rest of the apostles. They showed us how things were supposed to work. As apostles died or were killed, like Stephen, they were replaced by calling new apostles, like Paul. This should have continued the pattern, but unfortunately all of the apostles were killed. With them, the priesthood authority of the Apostles was lost from the earth. This was not a surprise to God. His apostles and prophets had prophesied of a great 'falling away' - or a time when the 'full', true gospel would be removed for a time only to be restored when the time was right for God. Through history, it was obvious to many that the 'full', true gospel was not on the earth. Otherwise Martin Luther would not have nailed his 95 theses to the wall of the Castle Church. You would not have had arguments over infant baptisms vs believer's baptism. Each of the great protestant men and women did their very best to reorganize a new church to the best of their human capabilities. But Christ's original church was first established by the hand of God and could only be RE-ESTABLISHED by the hand of God. This is why God again called prophets and apostles. This is why God restored the priesthood authority and called Apostles. God has a plan for us. God knows you, and he listens to and answers your prayers. Read the Book of Mormon. Pray to God. He will answer. Show more Show less
