Hi I'm RayDean

I am married with six children. I love my family -- the precious ones living now, and those who have passed on. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife, and the mother of six children -- five sons and one daughter. I am also the oldest of ten children -- five boys and five girls. I enjoy playing the piano and doing needlework, particularly crochet. Most of my free time is spent researching my ancestors, because I'm so grateful for the lives they lived that allowed me to enjoy the circumstances I'm in. Researching my family is important enough to me that I went back to college to get a degree in that field. I have a BGS degree from BYU, with an emphasis in Family History. I am also an Accredited Genealogist(R), specializing in research in England. My family and I enjoy family dinners, hiking, geocaching, and movie and ice cream nights. Oh, and watching BYU football!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have had the Holy Ghost tell me powerfully through my thoughts and feelings that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the church Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ established to guide us back to live with Them. So many churches today teach such good things and do a wonderful job of helping people draw closer to Christ. But the LDS Church is the only one with ALL the Lord's teachings and ordinances and priesthood authority. I have been a Mormon my whole life, so I grew up surrounded by the doctrines and stories and lessons. But that has never stopped me from thinking for myself! When I was a teenager I felt a profound need to know for myself if what I had always heard (about Jesus, Joseph Smith, The Book of Mormon, and other things) was just a bunch of stories or if it all was real. When I prayed and asked, I felt such a distinctive peace I just knew for certain it was all real.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by raising my family (at least trying to!) according to God's commandments. I make time for personal scripture study and prayer, and my husband and I make family scripture study and family prayer a priority. I attend church on the Sabbath. I help our local congregation (ward) by serving in the children's organization, called Primary. We teach the children (ages 18 months to 11 years) about the Savior and what they can do, even at their young age, to live the way Heavenly Father wants them to.
