Hi I'm Brent

I am a father, husband, and dermatologist and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

When I'm not working, I love to spend time with my children, go on dates with my wife, shoot baskets, sing, and learn about history.

Why I am a Mormon

The gospel of Jesus Christ and His church mean everything to me. I know why I am here and what God expects of me. He wants to bless me and my family in this life and forever. I know that my family and I can be together forever, even after we die. These blessings are possible because of Jesus Christ and His love for me. At times in my life, I have felt that love and God's spirit very strongly. Those feelings help me get through the challenges, doubts, and struggles of life with hope and faith. It is through those same feelings that God answers my heartfelt prayers. I am thankful to know that I can pray to my Heavenly Father and that He really does hear me--this has been a great source of strength for me. As I do the things He has asked of me, I feel closer to Him and want to be more kind and loving toward others. I know He has a plan for us and that the teachings of this church are really His teachings. We are truly His children and He loves each one of us. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to save us. These are the things that matter most and give meaning to my life life and this is why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I try to make the teaching of Jesus Christ and His church the guiding principles for everything I do in my life. My family and I try to read the scriptures together and pray everyday. As we have 6 young children, this is rarely as successful as we would hope, but we know that God blesses our efforts. I also try to study the scriptures and pray in my own life, which helps me face my personal challenges and find happiness. It gives me strength to be the person that God would have me be. We attend church together on Sunday. My older children attend an activity night at the church each week and my wife helps with the teenage girls during those activities. I am thankful for the positive influence these programs are on my children. One of the best things about the church is that we are asked to help watch over and care for one another. I am assigned a few families that I visit on a regular basis and make sure everything is going well for them. I love to visit these families and get to know them. I think sometimes I get more out of the visits than I actually give. I like to think that visiting each other and helping strengthen each others faith is what Jesus would be doing if He were here.
