Hi I'm Laura

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student majoring in food science. Food science is kind of a combination of culinary arts, nutrition, and chemistry - and I absolutely love it! I also love walking and hiking - in the woods, city, mountains, or anywhere else that I can. When I am stressed I enjoy going to the piano and just playing and playing.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born as a Mormon - but that isn't why I am Mormon. I am Mormon because first as a child I watched my parents' faith and I learned that living that gospel was good because they are good. Yet I still had to gain my own faith. This faith came as I would take walks in the forest behind our house and be filled with awe at the beauty that was all around me. I never doubted that there was a God - because He was always all around me and I couldn't doubt that. I also knew that God must love me because He had given me this beautiful Earth as well as a wonderful family. This faith in God led to faith in the Book of Mormon as I would read it. I felt the peace and comfort each time I would open its pages. One year, when I was a teenager, President Hinckley who was the prophet at the time challenged everyone to read the Book of Mormon before the year was up. I took this challenge to heart and by the time I had finished I knew without a doubt that President Hinckley was a prophet inspired of God and that the Book of Mormon is true. The Lord has helped me as I develop my testimony, and I am so grateful for that - because I know that my testimony will continue to grow as the Lord directs my paths. He loves each of us and wants us to return to Him - and we can do that as we live the principles of the gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by finding ways to serve those around me. Looking for ways to stretch out my hand to those in need. I live my faith by getting down on my knees and talking with the Lord, finding out what He wants me to do with my life, and how I can accomplish that. Then I rely on Him to be able to accomplish those things. I live my faith by following the path that my Savior has shown me.
