Hi I'm Jenny

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm 24 years old and work as the general manager of a large fitness facility called Fitness One. My husband and I live in Norman, Oklahoma, where he is studying law. We both graduated from BYU and enjoy staying active. I find the most joy from interacting with people from all different cultures and backgrounds. I really enjoy listening to music, dancing, and eating different foods from all around the world. I also find great happiness in cooking, exercising, and reading.

Why I am a Mormon

I know our Heavenly Father is very real, and He knows all of us individually. I know He has a plan for all of us, and He wants us to be happy. I have found immeasurable joy by taking extra care to have a good relationship with my Heavenly Father. By daily prayer and scripture study, I am able to communicate with Him and receive guidance in my life. I love Jesus Christ and His gospel. This truly is His church, and I am so grateful to be a part of it. Jesus Christ is our perfect example. He loves everyone, and He teaches us to do the same. Learning to love everyone is not always easy, but brings great joy when we can humble ourselves and love one another. I am a Mormon because I know, with 100 percent certainty, that this is the Lord's church. Everything we do is directed by God. Our organization and commandments have been given to us through living prophets who receive guidance directly from the Lord. This is the only church that acts under proper authority, through the restored priesthood. I am a Mormon because I have a testimony of the truthfulness of this gospel. I know my Savior loves me and I love Him. This simple knowledge allows me to be happy each and every day.

How I live my faith

I attend church every Sunday where I am taught by the Spirit. The organization of the church is important because it allows each of us to work together. We learn from one another and teach one another. However, I don't just live my faith by weekly church attendance. Being a Mormon is a lifestyle, and changes your perspective on things. I live my faith by praying and studying the scriptures; both the Bible and the Book of Mormon each day. I live my faith by doing my best to remember that everyone on this Earth is a son or daughter of God, and should be treated accordingly. This knowledge helps me to be more kind to others and offer service as often as possible. I live my faith by learning more about the Savior and trying to be like Him. The more I try to follow the teachings of Jesus, the happier I am. Living my faith is not always easy and is often challenging, but I have seen my Heavenly Father bless me in every way when I am trying to follow His commandments.

What is the Mormon lifestyle like? How do Mormons live?

Mormons live much like anyone else in the world, but also much different. We go to the same schools, work the same jobs, have similar struggles, pay taxes, celebrate holidays, and go on vacations just like everyone else. However, we are very different in some other ways. We don't drink alcohol or smoke tobacco. We don't have sex before marriage. These are not guidelines, these are hard fast rules. We value the family more than any other organization in the world, and that changes how we live. Mormons are built around families families that work together, play together, pray together, study together, eat dinner together, laugh together and cry together. Mormons try to a live a life that would be pleasing to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We try to love and serve others. Certainly none of us are perfect, but we strive to work towards perfection. We are a church of step by step progression, and we know that no one has ever strayed too far from Heavenly Father's plan to come back to Him.   Show more Show less
